DIVISIONS

The Strawberry Jam Camp Song Writer's Competition will have three (3) divisions:  
 

- Adult (over 18 years of age as of July 15, 2019) Adult Song Writers Competition

Sponsored by the Franklin Hotel, Cafe, Coffee Shop and Pub, Stop in for some delicious Strawberry Shortcake and thank Doug and Kris for their sponsorship of this event. 

   

- Youth (under 18years of age as of July 15, 2019) Youth Song Writers Competition 

Sponsored by: Back Home Country Cookin" Stop in and enjoy a piece of pie and thank Brenda for sponsoring this event. 

    

- Youth/Adult Combination (co-written entries)

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all non-professionals (persons who earn less than 50% of gross income from songwriting). 

ORIGINAL WORK

All entries must be the original work of contestant(s) and shall not infringe on any copyright or any other rights of any third party. Entries may have multiple co-writers. The Scholarship will be awarded jointly to all authors: division of prizes is responsibility of the winners.

JUDGING

All entries will be judged on originality, lyrics, melody and the song's overall commercial potential. Music production and performance quality are not considered. Entries will be judged by a panel of professional songwriters, publishers and other industry professionals who volunteer their time. All decisions by the judges will be final.  

ENTRY FEE

There is a $25 registration fee for each contestant's first entry, second and third entries are $10 each per division. i.e. If you submit three songs, in the Adult division, your fee would be $45* ($25+$10+$10).

 *should a contestant not win a scholarship for a division they entered, the entry fee shall apply to their Jam Camp Registration fee.

HOW DO I ENTER

Contestants must write an essay not to exceed 500 words and submit a video to YouTube with the contestant playing the song.  All genres accepted.  Each contestant can submit three songs.  


CONTEST OPENS MARCH 1st AND CLOSES MAY 15th AT MIDNIGHT.
