Strawberry Jam Camp is celebrating it's 15th jam camp in 2021!
Strawberry Jam Camp is a place where you can learn jamming decorum, how to play in different keys, and train your ear allowing you to venture from standard notation or tablature. The original idea was to have a music camp that did not focus on one instrument like “fiddle camp” or “banjo camp” and many people already knew how to play their instrument but did not know how to play with others.
Strawberry Jam Camp has been an absolute success. Many family bands got their start at the Strawberry Jam Camp. Many students have gone on to play with other regional bands and another is now building instruments. The introduction of the Songwriter's Workshop has added a whole new level of enjoyment.
The Songwriters Workshop is an extension of the Strawberry Jam Camp held the week before the Backbone Bluegrass Festival held in July. Dabble at writing song lyrics? Interested in pursuing songwriting as something more than a hobby? Then you need to attend this songwriters workshop. This year’s Songwriters Workshop’s instructors are Donna Ulisse, Rick Stanley, and Jerry Salley. What a powerhouse for a songwriting workshop! Their individual accomplishments are vast, read more here. This trio also teach songwriting at the Lil’ House Songwriting Workshop in Lebanon, TN.
